How do you calculate my car’s rarity score?
Your rarity score is based on the total production run (known as the total PARC) for a specific make, model, and derivative. For some manufacturers, like BMW, the derivative is so specific that it already defines the vehicle's unique generation. For others, where the derivative is not as specific, we use the year as a secondary filter to get a more accurate count. The final rarity score is directly based on the total number of vehicles that exist with that exact combination. The fewer vehicles that match, the higher your score will be.
What makes a car qualify as “rare”?
A vehicle is considered "rare" in our report if it has a particularly low production count for its specific make, model, and derivative in South Africa. Our check will show you exactly where your car ranks in terms of rarity.
Why a rarity check is not free?
We have to pay a fee to access the official and verified vehicle data from our trusted third-party data providers. The price you pay covers this cost and the automation that allows you to get your results instantly, without the hassle of a manual search.
What does a plate availability check include?
Our service checks if a personalised number plate is currently registered to any vehicle in South Africa. The results will confirm whether the plate is available for you to register officially at your nearest DLTC.
